Well established European based Sales and Distribution Company is seeking a Controller  to oversee the Accounting & Finance function of their US operation. This position will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the monthly reporting and financial analysis. This position will perform some of the HR and general operational management functions. This position reports directly to the Managing Director and is a very hands on roll and there is support with the transactional accounting. They are seeking a candidate that will take full ownership and can bring an entrepreneurial and strategic element with an overall drive to help the company grow and succeed.  

Salary: $90, 000 to 105, 000 
Location: Houston, North
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee and or perform daily accounting functions including but not limited to AP, AR, Sales commissions, payroll (Paychecks), month end/quarterly close and reporting function' s
  • Create reports and manage budgeting, forecasting and perform variance analysis
  • Develop and distribute financial reports to parent company on an as needed basis
  • Analyze current costs and look for continuous opportunities to improve processes and margins
  • Manage all accounts, prepare journal entries, balance GL, reconcile balance sheet  
  • Manage assets and depreciation schedule
  • Reconcile freight charges and review contracts
  • Cash management functions including cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis
  • Oversee month end, quarterly and year end close an prepare financial statements
  • Supervise Accounting and administrative staff, evaluate performance and manage day to day tasks
  • Perform various HR functions as needed along with managing  general office and administrative functions
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements
  • Direct financial audits, provide information for tax preparation to CPA and provide recommendations for procedural improvements 

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years minimum experience with some supervisory preferred
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and com
