Site Civil Engineer/ Project Manager


A consulting services company that works through all phases of transportation which include design and engineering, support and inspection, and more is looking for a strong Site Civil Engineer/ Project Manager that comes from a commercial, industrial, or site development background. Position Location:  West Houston

Position Salary: $85, 000 – $115, 000 (Depending on Experience)

Position Responsibilities:
  • Successful Candidate will serve as Sr. Project Engineer.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverable and estimate costs.
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
  • Candidate will be responsible for:
    • Evaluation of potential sites
    • Concept sketches
    • Feasibility studies
    • Pipeline crossing coordination
    • Phased-construction site planning
    • Commercial and industrial site layouts
    • Drainage and detention design
    • Interdisciplinary engineering design coordination
    • Municipal, County, and State DOT crossings and driveways
    • Project permitting submittal and design defense
    • Construction Administration and Quality Assurance
    • Customer Relations.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field.
  • Must have Professional Engineer License in the state of Texas Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Honorable Military Service is a significant plus.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Proven working experience in construction management.
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
  • Ability to plan and see the " big picture".
  • AutoCAD drafting experience is required, with heavy emphasis on Plan & Profile design and civil 3D (Land Development Desktop). Knowledge of Micro station is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Industrial Railroad Experience is a plus, but not a requirement. Possession of a current TWIC Card is a plus.
